APW - Rockford, Grade 938, 17J, 18S, gold-filled OF recase with detailed locomotive engraving to rear, white and blue enamel SS impressed dial with blue numerals and minute chapter, gold foil decorations, fancy gilt Louis XV style hands, SW-LS, two-tone gilt and nickel damascene, s#738903. This example is highlighted by its superb fancy dial.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, excellent two-tone color, some typical fine to micro-fine scratches, center jewel setting has been rotated from its original orientation; virtually flawless dial with small fine scratch at 9, very small glaze bubble at 12 that we believe is an as-made finish imperfection; excellent hands, slight bend to tip of hour; case shows medium wear, some short scratches and small nicks, no dents, excellent engraving detail, wear to brass throughout lower edge of band and also in strips following the band/bezel and band/rear seams, spots of wear to brass to pendant; tight brass bow, crown shows substantial wear, dark discoloration, and has lost portions of its jacket (outer layer); good glass crystal.
